William J Filippone MSN, MBA, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner specializing in outpatient care for children, adolescents and adults. William “Bill” provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy for a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and mood disorders.
Bill is dedicated to advancing patient care through compassion, integrity and resiliency. With a patient-centered approach, Bill is committed to building collaborative treatment plans that integrate evidence-based practice with individualized care. He believes in empowering patients through education, open communication, and compassionate support, helping them achieve meaningful and sustainable improvements in their mental health.
His approach is rooted in cultural humility, therapeutic rapport, and holistic care emphasizing the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the patient. He is deeply passionate about integrating behavioral health research into psychiatric practice and committed to driving progress in mental health through clinical excellence, education, and advocacy.
Bill earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and is nationally certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He also holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler, a BSN from Georgetown University, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. His early work in HIV and substance use research included key roles in NIH-funded studies at Brown Medical School and Emory University, with contributions published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes.
In the outpatient setting, Bill strives to provide a safe, welcoming space where individuals feel respected and understood in their treatment journey. Initial visits Accepting new patients in all age groups with availability for child and adolescent visits after school hours.
